In the book of 2 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul is appealing to the Corinthian Christians to give toward the needs of the suffering saints (or Christians) in the region of Judea and writes in verse 13-14 of chapter 8,
For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness.
In every month with a fifth Sunday, we're asking the members to give a gift, above their regular giving, that will go into a fund specifically for meeting emergency needs of church members and those in our community. In 2024 those months are March, June, September, and December. Be sure to use the special offering envelopes provided in the foyer for your gift.
